J. Crew has been on the serious come-up lately- and that push from Obama's wife wasn't so bad for the brand's image either- so I must commend them one yet another job/collaboration well-done. More details on Highsnobette.

Cults, Conspiracies, & Secret Societies

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Yesterday I read a review for this book and bought it on the way to class. The night before I was in the Hexagon Room talking about secret societies with The Swaggstas. Shit really just goes fuul circle because I've been talking about the Illuminati and Free Masons for years now!! I finally found a book that wasn't over my head with dark Latin phrases.
Information is laid right there in my lap. It's definitely a great read for anyone: prepsters, hipsters, urban sophisticates, or just fans of music and history.
Conspiracy theorists are sold on believing that some of our favorite musicians of now and then have been in secret societies- and the causes of some of their deaths had somethingto do with it. Aaliyah, Left Eye, Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and even Michael Jackson.
It gets heavy, but the more knowledge you have, the more aware you are of what's going on in the world around you. I suggest you read it.

Raf Simons for Fred Perry Fall/Winter 2009 Polo Shirts

The Raf Simons collaboration with Fred Perry continues for Fall/Winter 2009. Today we give you a first look at the polo shirts from the collection. Coming with a slightly slimmer cut and smaller collar, than the regular Fred Perry polo, they also feature a metallic laurel logo chest embroidery and collaborative labels in the neck. The polo is now available in several colorways from End. (Matter of fact, check out the adidas product on the site too... Pretty ill)

Lacoste Paris Pack

Lacoste has introduced their new Paris Pack. The pack consists of two colorways of the Imatra low top sneaker. Both feature a mixed upper, made of straw and striped canvas, resulting in two really nice summer sneakers. The pack is now available at Flauge.

Imagine taking these off at the beach in Nantucket, or the Hamptons and then that girl that's been watching you walk back and forth all afternoon looks inside and sees the picture below...

THEN SHE'S YOURS!! LOL Get'r'dun!!!
Sperry Topsider Fall 2009 Wool Sneakers

I think these are fresh as hell!!! I may just cop a pair for the cold winter approaching in Chicago. They'd go hard with a Polo sweater too. Khakis and chinos are a must for shoes like this. Maybe a tweed blazer too. Cop them online right here!!

Sperry Two-Tone Chukka Boot

Sperry welcomes their latest batch of Fall 2009 releases with a new set of dual-tone versions of their Chukka Boot model. The shoes take on the familiar boat silhouette, with a mid cut and contrasting uppers featuring a distressed motif. Three different color options have made their way into select Sperry accounts, including Leftfoot.

Vans Authentic Gingham Limited Edition

The Vans Authentic was released in a special all gingham edition. I'm thinking about copping a pair.... maybe in another colorway though....
You can get them online at a decent price on the oficial site.

Truth be told, I really want some Polo slippers though.

New Store In The Hamptons; SUMMER ONLY!!

Turns out, where the fashion folk go, the clothes have a way of following. T.B.D. is the latest in what's turned out to be a string of Hamptons pop-up shops this summer. (Steven Alan, J.Crew, and Hermès are among the brands to open temporary spaces.) Blame (or thank) that ol' recession—rather than let storefronts sit empty, owners are increasingly willing to rent them out for the high season only. In this case, the closure of a long-standing sewing store cleared the way for NYC natives Peter Hananel and Jesse Warren to open their men's boutique in Southampton.
The address may be South Fork, but the goods are more NYC. Unis, Rag & Bone, A.P.C. Madras, and Save Khaki make up the clothing offerings, with accessories from Super Sunglasses and Salvor Projects. (Beach reads come courtesy of Williamsburg's Spoonbill & Sugartown Books, though trashy airport novels they're not—think Colson Whitehead, Michel Houellebecq, and a handful of glossy art/design journals.) It's all pretty assured for two guys who don't have typical retail backgrounds—until recently, Hananel was in real estate equity. Not a bad Plan B, even if he does plan to close in September. And after that? Hananel laughs: "T.B.D."

Mark McNairy Teams Up With Bass

A Continuous Lean has been on fire with great info of late and their latest post on Mark McNairy’s collaboration with Bass may be it’s best. Mark McNairy has been the man behind the design at J. Press for a while now, but it seems like he’s been making some serious moves of late. His new line is very intriguing as it show his love for both boat shoes and loafers. We really love the white rubber sole loafers, blue/grey tassel loafers, and croc skin loafers in particular. Purely immaculate....

P.S.: It would be dope if Mr. Rogers was still alive and he rocked a pair on TV.
