Jay and the Beans Talk

J. Cole: "World Is Empty"

By now, the rest of the world should have caught up with J. Cole (either from listening to him spit on "BP3" or from knowing of him as the 1st signee to Jay Z's RocNation). Well this is my favorite track off oh his 2nd mixtape, "The Warm Up", his follow=up to the acclaimed "Come Up" mixtape.

This cat is iTunes worthy by all means. For now, I put his rookie skills somewhere between when I first heard mixtape Lupe and early Drake (circa, 2007). I can't wait to see what dude has in store in the future. I just hope his commercial growth won't inspire me to stop being as big of a fan- like I usually do when rappers get too mainstream.

Btw, if anybody knows the track he sampled, please let me know so I can get the original.

Jay Z Covers XXL Magazine

I wonder who's writing the cover story.... Better yet, who's doing the shoot. Hopefully it'll be epic. I'm not fully sold on how good this album will be yet, but the buzz is growing heavily!!

Here are a few more tracks off the album to too on your iPod a tad earlier

Jay Z: "Venus vs Mar$"

Jay Z: "Off That" (ft. Drake)(Prod. By: Timaland)

Jay Z: "Reminder" (Prod. By: Timaland)

And It's The Real did a video commentary on "Run This Town"... HILARIOUS!!

Jay-Z: “Run This Town” (Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West) (video)

It does NOT live up to the expectations I had for it.... But it's still a decent video, though the song itself carries most of the good impression. It kinda makes me wanna rebel though... ANARCHY!!!

The Making of Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” (feat. Kanye West & Rihanna)

I'm not sure what all of the promo and teasers are surrounding this video is all about but I swear, if this shit doesn't drop in the next few days it had better be one of his greatest videos ever!! LOL I'm just being impatient... Either way I'm still bumping the track CRAZY!!!

Blueprint 3: 09.11.09

(P.S.: Dude only made me MORE anxious with that tiny ass explanation)

Jay Z: "Feelin' It" video

Damn... I ain't even know there WAS a video to this track till I caught it on elitaste earlier... Shit fucked me ALL the way up LOL... Dude, NOBODY can NEVER say Jay Z wasn't the shit since forever!! My dude was on some flashy shit way before the classic ratings and platinum records... And the shit they rented back then- some of these things I'm sure they own nowadays though- was still mad expensive so it carries enough validity to assure that SOMEONE was pitchin' yayo. Not to mention this is one of my favorite songs off of the iconic "Reasonable Doubt".

Pics From the "Run This Town" video

All black EVERYTHING
I'm assuming this is that one broad that everybody's such a fan of..... Rihana or however you spell it.

I wonder if Amber Rose is gonna actually BE in the video, or if she's just there dressed in all black. LOL

The video should be dropping in a matter of days to a few weeks.

Jay Z & Eminem Perform "Renegade" Onstage Together

You can tell that age is catching up to them because they lack the energy to carry the impact that this had on people- they're just a little TOO cool and laiback

Regardless of the lack of energy, it was historic!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On top of that, ever since Jay noted that he "might wear black for a year straight" ("D.O.A.")- and he meant "all black everything" ("We Run This Town")- the sightings of black clothes have increased DRASTICALLY in the dead heat of summer!! Most people know that I'm not one to co-sign a heavy trend, but it's JAY-Z!! Not only do I have a bias for what the nigga does, but I co-sign almost everything he does, unless it's just ridiculously stupid. But there are PLENTY fashion designers with prestigious names (i.e.: Rogan Gregory, Karl Lagerfeld, Helmut Lang, etc.) who have gone through phases where they've stated that they've worn ONLY the color black from head to toe so Jay's head is on straight. Not to mention I think it's one of the most neutral colors that one can wear.

So here's how to get the "all black" look like Hov from what "Complex" magazine has given us. I approve.

You can catch the price details on Complex's blog.

(P.S.: All black is HELLA G!!! UGH!!)

RocNation's 1st Artist: J. Cole

My brother Mercey put me on game today about him, but after doing my own research, it seems like dude has been paying his dues for quite a minute actually. Legend has it that he tried to submit a track to Jay for the "American Gangster" album, but the "God MC" shitted (technically, it should be "shat" for future reference) on him hard and left him in the rain- only to later sign him as you see.

Here he is freestyling over the "I Really Mean It" beat by DipSet...

Dude is pretty nice on the "Dead Presidents" instrumental too....

Last time Hova mentored a new guy in the game, it was Lupe (check him below on the same instrumental)

Once I find the link or his mixtape, I'll share it with the world

Jay Z's The Blueprint 3 Intro

Blueprint 3: 9.11.09....

The revolution will NOT be televised. Hova is Hova.... So don't question what it's gonna be like.

Jay Z: "Death Of Auto-tune"

There comes a point in every rich person's life where they can just do whatsoever they choose because of the wealth that they've earned.... Jay Z is no different. He does what he wants, WHEN he wants, and thinks nothing of it. As do I. The difference between he and I is simple: I'm street Hova, on the cusp of beginning to record "Reasonable Doubt" and he's already where he wants to be.

Fluid. Anti-establishment. Rebellious, even in his mid-age era. Almost flawless. *Bow in greatness*

Jay- Z Digs Soulja Boy's Vibe!!!

Family!! I got kinda geeked when The God M.C. showed Soulja Boy some love on the Angie Martinez Show.... "At least he's being honest"... HOVA HOVA HOVA HOVA!!!....

(P.S.: I would've NEVER thought I'd tag JAY-Z in the same post as SOULJA BOY!! AND Soulja Boy in with TRENDSETTER!!! But he's officially got a serious stamp of approval- not like I wasn't a fan anyways!! HAHAHAHA... Keep it up SB)

Which one are you feeling more?? Wale vs Hova...

Sorry fam... But Wale's version of "Boyz" is way more fresha' then Hov's.....
