This is like my Number 2 favorite movie of all time (only after of "City Og God")....
One of the smoothest sections in the film. I had to post it cuz some girls I look like Mr. Tate the other day. With that being said, I watched "Love Jones" the other day and I been on this shit ever since...
This season, Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos abandoned the runway for a different approach: racks of clothes accompanied by a four-screen video presentation showcasing their men's and women's pieces in action. Here, an edited version of that footage.
Being that I am a fashion major, I LOVED "The Devil Wears Prada" (even though it took a STRONG female persuasion to get me to view it- I thought it was gonna be a chick flick), I instantly got geeked when I heard that there was gonna be a documentary about the lady that inspired Meryl Streep's character, Miranda Priestly.
Well here's the REAL "Miranda Priestly", the legendary Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of "Vogue" Magazine.
Here's the press release: "Anna Wintour, the legendary editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine for twenty years, is the most powerful and polarizing figure in fashion. Hidden behind her trademark bob and sunglasses, she has never allowed anyone to scrutinize the inner workings of her magazine. Until now. With unprecedented access, filmmaker R.J. Cutler’s new film "The September Issue" does for fashion what he did for politics in The War Room, taking the viewer inside a world they only think they know. Every August a record-breaking number of people can’t wait to get their hands on the September issue of Vogue. The 2007 issue was and remains the biggest ever, weighing over four pounds, selling thirteen million copies, and impacting the $300-billion global fashion industry more than any other single publication. An intimate, funny and surprising look at Anna Wintour and her team of larger-than-life editors as they create this must-have Bible of fashion, Cutler explores the untouchable glamour of Wintour’s Vogue to reveal the extraordinarily passionate people at its heart. He takes us behind the scenes at Fashion Week, to Europe, on shoots and reshoots, and into closed-door staff meetings, bearing witness to an arduous, entertaining, and sometimes emotionally demanding process. At the eye of this annual fashion hurricane is the two-decade relationship between Wintour and Grace Coddington, incomparable Creative Director and fashion genius. They are perfectly matched for the age-old conflict between creator and curator. Through them, we see close-up the delicate creative chemistry it takes to remain at the top of the ever-changing fashion field."
"Coco Before Chanel" is the story of Gabrielle Coco Chanel, who began her life as headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey became the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style. The film portrays the formative years of Chanels life, the years of Chanel spent discovering and inventing herself.
In theaters: September 25, 2009 Starring: Audrey Tautou, Benoit Poelvoorde, Marie Gillian, Alessandro Nivola, Emmanuelle Devos
I kinda wish it was an English translation being shown in America but either way my jaw DROPPED when I saw this trailer and I will DEFINITELY be seeing this flick. I'm expecting it to be as good as "The Devil Wears Prada" (which was PHENOMENAL to say the least)
Sheldon "Ronin" Smith, a fellow sneaker head and Laced Magazine, an upcoming sneaker magazine presents "Soled Out". Soled Out is a sneaker documentary which is all about the sneaker culture, from the biggest corporations to people camping out overnight and paying ridiculous prices. It is just over 10 minutes but I suggest you watch this, it is very informative to the consumer of these sneakers, which is you.
As much as I can find something negative to say about heels, I can't even complain about these. I'm pretty sure I'd look twice at a woman if she walked by with any of these on...
