Electrik Red: "Im That Chick"

My favorite girl group- backed by The Dream & Tricky (Radio Killa imprint)- is Electrik Red if you ain't know. They're ALL sexy, sassy and stylish. Not to mention they actually got a certain air of confidence about them that'll make even the most secure man feel like he has to overcompensate for something. Sometimes a woman that can out a man in his place is sexy. They are an example.

Astrud Gilberto: "The Girl From Ipanema"

I'm so in love with this track. This song is from the 1964 album "Getz/Gilberto" by Stan Getz & João Gilberto. The music video is from the 1964 film "Get Yourself a College Girl".... Though I've never seen the flick, I was told that the music video is like an actual scene from the movie.... Now I got a few ideas!!! LOL

Vitalic: "Poison Lips"

"The return of Vitalic also apparently means the return of sleazy dance music. Granted, it hasn’t been as long as it feels since the Ed Banger crew dominated the booze-soaked crusty electronic circuit, but there’s something somehow fresh about this song. Maybe it’s the way Vitalic’s galloping synths are paired with those airy vocals, like you know listening to this song is a bad idea but you just can’t stop. Basically it looks like we’re saying this is drug music for dirty old men, and despite the weird/gross connotations that brings, it’s actually a pretty awesome niche to reside in. Watch the video up above to see a bunch of expressionless women smear lipstick on each other."~ The Fader

Trey Songz: "Successful" (feat. Drake)

I believe this song will now be on Trey's album as opposed to Drake's... So Trey threw in a verse and a few ad libs to make it his own. Enjoy.

Hollyweerd Live @ The Temple Bar

(Check out the rest of the videos on @ 2DopeBoyz)

The hottest ATLiens on the rise, Hollyweerd, can seriously put on a show. Sick stage presence, dope style, a few instruments on hand, and great music to top it off.

Hollyweerd - Have You Ever Made Love to a Weirdo from The Takeover Radio Show on Vimeo.

In an era in music (especially urban music) where style supersedes substance and creativity, Hollyweerd, are on the rise in a new generation of musicians where they can sell an image all their own and still be artists. I reckon it's time for more people to jump on the bandwagon!!

Most folks that I introduced their music to hae becme instant fans, they make MUSIC, and MUSIC is for everybody. So download the mixtape or visit their MySpace and find something you like.

Mike Posner Signs With J Records

HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER SINGER / SONGWRITER/ PRODUCER AND DUKE UNIVERSITY SENIOR SIGNS TO J RECORDS

(New York – NY) – Emerging and much buzzed about singer / songwriter / producer Mike Posner has signed to J Records. After self releasing his first mixtape A Matter of Time in March, it gained instant popularity and soared to become the #1 free download on iTunesU.
A Matter Of Time is a genre spanning mixtape that includes Posner originals “Drug Dealer Girl” and perhaps his most ubiquitous song “Cooler Than Me” which features Kanye West protégée Big Sean.
“At the tender young age of 21, Mike Posner is already a gifted artist, producer, writer, performer and obviously student as he got into Duke University, where he still has his senior year ahead of him! says Barry Weiss, Chairman and CEO, RCA/JIVE Label Group. “He is an artist that is already touching his peers through a vibrant on-line presence of his songs. Hats off to Peter Edge for bringing Mike into the company. We are excited.”
21 year old Posner hails originally from Southfield, MI and is about to begin his senior year at Duke University where he is majoring in Sociology and Business. He is currently in the studio working on his debut album which is scheduled for release later this year.
Posner states, “I can’t think of a better way to start my senior year of college than by signing a record deal with J Records. I’ve been hard at work in the studio all summer and can’t wait to share my music with the world.”

Congrats man... You make some pretty dope music.

Major Lazer: “Pon De Floor” video

Yoooooo... This video is CRAZY!! I wasn't fully sold on Major Lazer just yet, but I think they've finally caught my attention!!

And if Jamaica is playing electro-dancehall down there now, I'm DEFINITELY headed there very soon LOL

Kid Cudi & Keri Hilson On The Cover of the Next Complex Magazine

Tey went HARD for it's 5th Annual "Style & Design" Issue.

Kid Cudi's artist was graf artist Augor. The video segment was ill as fuck and I can't wait for the issue to drop.

I think Keri's GORGEOUS, but I'm not fully sold on her versatility (style, music, and beauty) yet. She's kind of one-dimensional to me.... But on the other hand, my boy SoMe did the artwork for her spread (Noted for his work on Kanye's "Good Life", Justice's "D.A.N.C.E.", and Kid Cudi's "Day'N'Nite" among others)

Here's Keri's spread. Just follow the link.

The issue also features stories on Kaws, Where The Wild Things Are, Amber Rose and more. so don't slip up and miss out cuz inspiration will come once again and they're definitely stepping up the standard with the art this issue.

Miles Davis: "So What"

Listening to the "Kind Of Blue" album changed my life FOREVER, and a lot of that album's impact on me is based off of this song. I recommend the album for ANY music lover-especially one who is not afraid to cross barriers and listen to jazz.

So What - Miles Davis

Here's even a live version for you.

Here's to class, progression, success, and love.
Have a good evening people.

Ne-Yo: "Your Girl Is A Ho" and Words For Rihanna

"Your Girl Is A Ho"

Plus he addresses Rihanna for refusing to make a Chris Brown diss record on her next album....

Trey Songz: "Die Tonight"

This shit sounds like slow dance material... I'm sure my big bro J-White gonna download it.. LOL

Lloyd Dropped Off A Few New Tracks

"All My Love" (certified niceness in my book!!)

"Her Love" (very dancey.... But I think a good video would do it justice...)

(Something like....

THIS!!!)

Teyana Taylor: "Colored Me Pink"

I like the track.... I figured it was a Neptunes production but it's done by some cat named Hit-bOy from Surf Club (whoever that is...)

But it's a pretty fly track nonetheless. Check it out if you're a fan of her work.
