Curb Your Enthusiasm: "Black Swan" (Nov. 1, 2009)

Since "The Wire" is no longer in production and "The Boondocks" are constantly being postponed with the release of their 3rd season, I've come to find a new favorite TV show; "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has won the award with "Bored To Death" (starring Jason Schwartzman) winning a close 2nd. It's the Sunday night comedy block on HBO and I must say, this shit is hilarious. While "Curb" has been on for years now, "Bored To Death" is in its 1st season- both deserve Emmy awards.

Here's the latest episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Black Swan"

This show is INSANELY Jewish. So most of you guys should know that it wasn't hard to like it. I LOVE Jews!!!

Love Jones: "A Blues For Nina (Brotha To The Night)"

This is like my Number 2 favorite movie of all time (only after of "City Og God")....

One of the smoothest sections in the film. I had to post it cuz some girls I look like Mr. Tate the other day. With that being said, I watched "Love Jones" the other day and I been on this shit ever since...

And You Say Chi City: Round 2

The first one went down a few weeks ago and that was CRAZY!! Girls on poles, people sweating and wasted... It was great and it kicked off the school year for Chicago college students....

They're back again this weekend with a new twist: Hip-hop vs electro!!

Mayhem shall occur!! Juking is the only option. And leaving sober and single won't be anyone's goal!!

Friday, October 2, 2009. The venue will be announced the day before the party

Cults, Conspiracies, & Secret Societies

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Yesterday I read a review for this book and bought it on the way to class. The night before I was in the Hexagon Room talking about secret societies with The Swaggstas. Shit really just goes fuul circle because I've been talking about the Illuminati and Free Masons for years now!! I finally found a book that wasn't over my head with dark Latin phrases.

Information is laid right there in my lap. It's definitely a great read for anyone: prepsters, hipsters, urban sophisticates, or just fans of music and history.

Conspiracy theorists are sold on believing that some of our favorite musicians of now and then have been in secret societies- and the causes of some of their deaths had somethingto do with it. Aaliyah, Left Eye, Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and even Michael Jackson.

It gets heavy, but the more knowledge you have, the more aware you are of what's going on in the world around you. I suggest you read it.

"M@R$ Says", Volume 1: We Need Each Other

Yo.... On the real... I woke up at 6:30 am my time and been on the move till 11pm that night. I have nothing but dedication toward success and the betterment for anyone I care for. I helped my uncle out at that NACA event for a whole 'nother work shift's worth of time but I didn't care because I helped him make his life a little easier from here on out. And I told my parents, friends, I'm gonna tell the WORLD: HELP THOSE IN NEED!!!

Whatever good you do, it shall come back twofold so don't stress off of the have's and have-not's because your very own neighbors could smile to you EVERYDAY when you see one another outside of home, but behind those doors, life could be unbearable and the one thing that makes their day is YOUR smile and handshake or wave!!

Life's too short for us to not cherish, explore, experiment, and (most importantly) ENHANCE! We help one another make life worth living- not OURSELVES, but the others that compliment the simple things which make life pleasurable anyway. So sometimes, GIVE that spare change to the homeless, for it is not YOUR issue or sin if they were to use that money wisely.

We have to learn to do good deeds without thought or reckon. Without expectation of praise. Without worry or question of reward. We must do to beat time. A good deed ALWAYS has a sense of urgency attached, because if you don't take the opportunity to do it, it could be the difference of life and death in the most extreme of cases, or the difference between tears of joy or tears of sorrow.

So do what's right because it's the right thing to do at any given moment and not for any other reason.

I'll be back tomorrow. Peace~ Playboy Mar$

Hellz Bellz "Women’s Iconz" Tee

This is probably my all time fave tee by Hellz Bellz (this is the first tee I ever saw from the brand. My folks Jhonna put me on to them. I actually searched near & high for a Men's fit for this shit cuz it's soooo dope to me) , the women’s iconz tee where Lanie Alabanza Barcena highlights some of the noteworthy women who made their mark in our culture. A few we could identify: Sade, Debbie Harry, Vivienne Westwood, Ertha Kitt, Gabrielle’Coco” Chanel, Grace Jones…Making this a must have. Available 80spurple & (the extremely cliche', yet still cool with me, internet empire named...) Karmaloop.

Facebook Made My Day

So.... Yesterday I made a status and it led to a few haters writing in my Honesty Box... LOL.... I forgot I even had an Honesty Box till I decided to clean out those thousands of messages in my inbox and went to check out my notifications... But here's the deal:

Status that caused my Honesty Box to blow up:
Terrence 'Mars' Jonesdoesn't fully understand why folks are celebrating their "swagg" when they ALL look alike. Walk, talk, and think the same too... Meanwhile, I'm chilling with SNKY, Made Monarchs, NX-Level, Fly Kite, D.E.M.O., The RudeBoyz, The Swaggstas, The Undergrads, FKC, HUE, etc. in the Winner's Circle!!! Check me out at ( http://kidinfamous.blogspot.com/ ) and follow me on Twitter ( http://twitter.com/Playboy_Mars )

Hater Bitch (the color was a pink)in my honesty box:
Ur status sucks. U just contradicted urself during the whole thing by naming almost every promoter or click in STL when yal all doing the same thing but swear yal unique.
You know yal all look alike, dress alike and think alike 2!!! It's typical stuff: U like Santigold, u wear dunks and "exclusive kicks", u obsess over every fashion blog and copy ppl's style, u wear a tiny t-shirt or sum skinny legs, u think ur cool because of what u wear, u try too hard. I am not impressed. Im tired of ppl throwing there idea of what they consider swag on everyone else who isnt in your circle (which is as big as the equator). U a cool dude but u need to stop sometimes.

My response:
uuummm...... ok.... LOL

i said etc for a reason....

it ain't even about our image LOL

i was showing love to the people i WORK for and with...

FKC, HUE, and The Undergrads have 3 COMPLETELY different styles... Fly Kite isn't even St. Louis: it's a film company based out of Chicago...

NX-Level and D.E.M.O. are neither "cliques" (because you spelled it wrong): they both make music and they sound completely different!!!

SNKY is my store and Made Monarchs are like family to me....

The RudeBoyz are my brothers and the Swaggstas aren't even what you listen to....

Do your research while I keep getting paid for simply mentioning these names....

This summer is the first summer I got a check with a comma on it.... And it's grown ass folks out here who can't even keep that in their bank accounts for a month because of bills!!!

So imma keep doing me and working with people that are getting me paid. It gives a sense of community and success, so I'm with it. Cuz you writing me this message took time out of your day.

Time=Money.... I can be on Facebook and STILL make money. Cuz I promote through internet, music, film, photography, events, community, and soon radio....

I'm a fashion major so I read EVERY GQ and Vogue that comes out. I've been a big fan of sneakers since like sophomore year. I BARELY listen to Santigold OR MIA (though I am a fan of their work)... I'm not different. I just do different things...

Focus on you, cuz I don't pay your bills.... You do.

My spill and spew:
ALL my life, it's been at least ONE person out of my group of people I kicked it with to mention I'm a little off- but in a god way. I don't refer to myself as an "eccentric" or some strange "weirdo" in a serious manor- if I ever even do. Yeah I'm a little quirky. I definitely think and break shit down differently, but that's not a bad thing. NOR does it make me weird.

I actually tend to think of myself as everyone else. OTHERS call me different- but that doesn't make my societal identity as such!!! I go out and I dress up, or look like a bum at times... It's just ME. Why? Cuz I don't give a FUCK!!

Bitch I got loyal friends, and got a loving and supporting family, even a consistent source of income during some of the worst times America has ever seen!! So why the fuck should I really care about what people I don't even know think when I'm out and about??

This tangent isn't even me angry... I'm simply kicking knowledge to the uninformed. To know me is to understand me. Therefore, if you have little to no insight on me from a personal standpoint, then you cannot say you know me. And if you don't know me, then don't write in my honesty box, because you have NOTHING to be honest with me about. Dig?

Now back to this paper... I'll see y'all out tonight. And tomorrow for the Lupe concert with big brother Black Spade performing!!

Oh, and if you dislike me, don't forget to smile in my face. Cuz just like everybody who lacks individuality or is afraid to BE or THINK differently, they all look alike. Just like the snakes that shake me up among the ones who admire and like me for who I am.

This Is What Started It All For Me

Atlanta native, Pastor Troy went IN on the two powerhouses of New Orleans- Cash Money Records and No Limit Records- to rep Atlanta to the fullest and completely DISRESPECT New Orleans!!!

This song changed my life in a sense because this is when I discovered "crunk" and I became the wildest person in the party from then on...

The Strokes: "Soma"

There was once a point in my youth when I couldn't give a single care in the world about a single thing... When I was living that sort of life, I listened to rock more than anything (I'm a die-hard hip-hop head but I got bored with the game at a point...) and during that era, I came across my favorite rock band- The Strokes... I'm glad I got them in my life.

To this day I remember idolizing them- I wanted to be JUST like Fabrizio for a while- and wanting the lifestyle that they dedicated their music to: women, sex, partying, style, and being a wealthy kid with tons of money to spend it on....

I'm glad I aspired earlier on for that lifestyle, cuz it's quite a pleasure that I can relate to them nowadays.

UGK: "It's Supposed To Bubble"

I SWEAR to you.... I wish I was born and raised in the south (at least visited more often than I did to experience the culture)!!! I mean, I'm a St. Louis native and our black culture is HEAVILY engulfed in Southern culture, but we're still not the South!! It was close enough for me to grow up and wanting to be like Pimp C (R.I.P) when I grew up and going to parties and actually KNOWING what "syrup" was when the Three 6 Mafia track came on.... BUT I wish I could've grew up listening to DJ Screw, walking through the ATL streets and seeing the Dungeon Family riding by on a ot summer Saturday, and shit like that....

I love the South, but since I didn't grow up there, I bump shit like THIS on a DAILY basis to cool out and just relax.... I feel like I got a Southern soul and a East coast mentality- either way, I'm still 100% St. Louis!!
